AUGUSTA TECH CYBER INSTITUTE

Welcome to Augusta Tech Cyber Institute.  The purpose of this Augusta Tech Cyber Institute website is to provide students and the community with information about the College’s Cybersecurity program and other related programs.  The website also links to key Cybersecurity Web sites, news and information on Information Systems Technology, Information Assurance, Cybersecurity, and key Augusta Technical College Cybersecurity activities.

Cybersecurity training and education has become progressively relevant in the Central Savannah River Area (CSRA) as Fort Gordon is now home to the U.S. Army Signal School, the U.S. Cyber Center of Excellence, the U.S. Army Cyber Command, and a large sector of NSA Cryptologic Centers. The Cybersecurity Associate of Applied Science (AAS) Degree prepares students for the cybersecurity workforce by offering a planned sequence of courses in computer hardware, computer software, operating systems, networking, network security, cyber defense and countermeasures, penetration testing/ethical hacking, digital forensics, cyber ops, and security policies and procedures. Graduates of the Cybersecurity AAS will be prepared for technical positions in both business and government sectors.

Well-trained cybersecurity personnel are needed in government and private industry.  According to the (ISC)2 CYBERSECURITY WORKFORCE STUDY, 2021 there is a worldwide cybersecurity gap of 2.7 million and a U.S. cybersecurity gap of 377,000.
